We're Not Mad At These New adidas Adilette Wood Slides
Reinterpreting classics is a dicey business. Either you do it REALLY well and everyone is issuing a slow clap or you don't do said classic justice and everyone is like, "WTF, bruh?" Rarely is there ever an in-between.
So, when I peeped the release of this here take on the adidas Adilette slide I was intrigued (much like I was with this take on the classic from the three stripe SS16 lookbook) and ready to thoroughly assess the slow-clapability of the offering.
First introduced back in 1972, adidas brings the classic slide full circle in 2016 which finds the adilette decked out in that good wood. While those who may not dig the "high fashion" look this particular release is touting, its thick, rippled rubber outsole, cream palette, and new-age feel is pretty perfect for fashionistas who aren't quite hopping on the fur slide bandwagon.
See the slides below for more looks at the adilette Wood Slides.
If you’re looking to cop a pair of these wooden slides, we should warn you - they come with a significantly higher price tag - ringing in at $120 USD.
So, what's your verdict? Are you feeling these wooden wonders for summer 16?
