A Closer Look at the New Balance 1000 'Silver Metallic' Release

It looks like silver linings are (still) upon us.

2023’s metallic wave continues and New Balance is getting in on the action with a very shiny take on the NB 1000 SL. After a collaborative release with Joe Freshgoods that found us reminiscing on the days of airbrush everything and tall tees, New Balance is now primed to bring its latest 1000 SL model to the masses. The SL 1000 will debut on April 24th with a global release in silver and black. Let’s just say, we need to see these on foot ASAP.

This marks the NB 1000 SL’s first go as a non-collaborative release since it’s 90’s heyday and this particular iteration is leaning heavy on the metallic craze with a palette of chrome leather on top of an aged cream midsole for a vintage feel.

In comparison to the aforementioned JFG pair, this metallic counterpart also clarifies a traditional color-blocking scheme rather than a half-and-half split. For us, the 1000 SL will be right up your alley if you’re a fan of a reminiscent Nike Air Max 96 with its layered, wavy construction.

Right now, the New Balance 1000 SL “Silver Metallic” is slated for release this week, on April 24th. The release will be both euro and stateside and will clock in at $150 USD. We’re anticipating that this GR will arrive on NewBalance.com and additional retail partners, including euro retailer AFEW, which already seems to have the sneaks up on-site, starting at a US size 4.
