There once was a time in the Olympic Games where women were womens running was limited to only 1,500 meters because there was a belief that women couldn’t physically endure long distances and Joan Benoit Samuelson changed the game in 1984.

Nike has continued its support of women athletes through NikeWomen’s runs and their international race series that brings together athletes from around the world continue to push the limits.

Nike’s first footwear collection inspired by female athletes and their boundary-breaking accomplishments, the Nike Beautiful X Powerful Collection rethinks four Nike footwear icons and imbues each with that aforementioned trademark “There is no finish line” declaration. It also showcases a speed-stripe, jacquard-woven material that is inspired by the winning lap and iconography of Samuelson’s race.

The Nike Beautiful X Powerful Collection Premium Leather is available October 6 via the SNKRS App and at global retailers worldwide. The Nike Beautiful X Powerful Collection Jacquard is available December 1.
