Downtown Girls Basketball Team Shows Hops in Nike's '12 Soles' Zine
For as long as many of us can remember, sport has been one form of entertainment that has had a profound effect on popular culture. The sport of basketball is one of those marquee sports that tends to influence entire movements (fashion choices, for example) outside of the confines of the hardwood.
As an homage to the past, present, and future of sport, Nike delivers the new '12 Soles' zine to highlight silhouettes that transcend the sport and find themselves steeped into our everyday lives.
The Swoosh continues to expand upon their ever growing effort to celebrate the female athlete by teaming up with the NYC-based Downtown Girls Basketball Club. For the spread, these ladies put sneakers like the Kyrie 2, Zoom KD 9, Foamposite Doom and the SF-AF1 in to the test along with soon-to-be-released sportswear styles including the Air Jordan XVI Retro, Air Force 1 Ultraforce Mid and Air Max Uptempo pack.
