Filling Pieces Taps Asia Typek For SS17 Women's Collection Street Style Shoot
Around these parts, we have an affinity for brands that can bridge the ever shortening gap between streetwear and high fashion. And, while it seems street culture's influence is at a peak this season (think Louis Vuitton's collab with Supreme and Rihanna's latest FENTY x Puma showing at Paris Fashion Week), we're always eager to see these looks translated into things we can actually wear - and afford.
Filling Pieces, who have always designed unisex sneakers with both men and women in mind, decided to show love exclusively to the ladies with their second women's collection. This SS17 season, they continue their female-centric footwear with a selection of exclusives alongside more feminine iterations of their classic Low Top and Mountain Cut trainers.
Earlier this month, FP linked with renowned street style photographer Asia Typek - who’s work has been featured by HighSnobiety, Elle and W Magazine amongst others - to take the the streets of Paris and capture their women's SS17 campaign. According to the brand, "The shoot captures the zeitgeist of the current fashion climate through the context of the streets, which act as the modern day catwalks." Well said.
Model Marie Berger brings the essence of chic street style, as the lines between streetwear and high fashion influences blur and, in turn, create a style all their own. Plus, we're eyeballing a few of these sneaker options in a major way.
Highlights include the return of our Marina silhouette - this time in a low top configuration - with luxurious green leather and suede uppers and the Low Mondi Shark in vibrant tonal suede uppers of purple and green/beige. In addition, the unisex Filling Pieces Low Top Tabs, Steel Runner and Roots Runner Roman styles are captured in a way that speaks directly to the fashionista in all off us.
While a trip to the Filling Pieces e-store won't run cheap (silhouettes run between $180 - $260 USD) they definitely have some items that are swiftly popping up on our radar. Shop their SS17 women's collection here and, if you're intrigued, peep a few of our favorite FP picks below.
