If you’re familiar with women’s basketball and the WNBA, you likely know Natasha Howard.

After landing as the 5th pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft, the 32-year-old WNBA star has taken her talents to various teams throughout her 10-year WNBA career, which resulted in not one but three WNBA championships. In doing so, the Ohio native has cemented her status as one of the best power forwards in the game. But, there’s another side to Natasha Howard.

When we greeted Howard at her home in Dallas, she was just getting back from practice and was clearly exhausted. But, she lit up when talking about her kicks. Often soft-spoken, Natasha came out of her shell when the topic of personal style was mentioned. Whether it’s Rhude signature shorts or Round21 tees, Howard isn’t shy about her love for fashion and telling her own story through the art of streetwear.

After being drafted to the Indiana Fever and achieving Championship winning seasons with the Minnesota Lynx and Seattle Storm, Howard landed with the New York Liberty in 2021/2022. Now, she’s found a solid rhythm with the Dallas Wings and a fellow style connoisseur in teammate Arike Ogunbowale. But, Natasha’s love for fashion really seems to be rooted in the kicks she’s collected for years. In fact, we didn’t even see half of what she actually has.

“The majority of my collection is at my family home in Mississippi. I usually bring a few pair back every time I go to visit but, there’s no way I’d have space for it all here.” What she does have in her Dallas apartment is some pretty solid heat, including a special pair of custom Kobe’s that send a nod to each team she’s played for in the W.

In terms of her personal style, the 6’2’’ forward’s ensembles and color kick game ensures you can’t miss her. “My favorite pair to stand out would be Yums. They’re a Black-owned brand based in Texas and I just love how colorful they are.” The kicks in question (and pretty much everything we saw in her collection) range in color and silhouette, but are alike in their splendor. Louis V? Off-White 1’s? Classic 4’s? It’s all there.

The key to Natasha’s collection? Comfort and color dictate her sartorial expression. Once cozy, Howard embraces key items and accessories that tell a story. Her essentials include her custom chains with one donning her nickname (Flash), a fresh pair of kicks, and a signature designer bag. Ahead, Howard shares more about her career, her personal style, and a glimpse inside her collection.
