Sneaker Diary: Vans Sk8-Hi
It's time for another Sneaker Diary featuring ya girl! This time I headed out with my mom for a little lunch at one of my favorite spots in the city of Chicago, The Roost. I'm glad I brought her along because she took all the photos (I love you Mom!) with a little bit of my guidance. If you haven't noticed already I've been wearing this faux yellow jacket from Zara a lot! This jacket made its debut at Nike Chicago's Air Max Day event and it's literally been my favorite thing to wear ever since! However, it doesn't stand up well to being rubbed against other materials so beware before purchasing this product! But, it gives everything I wear that much needed pop of color.
I got this t-shirt from VITA, a local Chicago brand that you can find in Fat Tiger Workshop sometime last year. I've only had the opportunity to wear it a couple of times but today it seemed perfect! What I like the most about this shirt is how black it is honestly. I've washed it and it still remains as black as the day I purchased it. I decided to paired it with a ripped pair of light wash jeans from Urban Outfitters. My goal for the day was to be cute but comfortable and this outfit helped conceal my lunch baby in a major way.
I recently attended a House of Vans event here in Chicago and left with a pair of Vans Sk8-Hi in the black and white colorway. Even though these are traditionally skater shoes, we've grown to wear them casually and I'm totally down with that movement. Of course these are available in the low version as well.
The simple black and white colorway of the shoes will go with almost anything. Since my jacket was bright, I wanted everything else to be toned down and these simple shoes were it, I would even go for an all white pair of sneaks with this too.
