Sneaker Diary: Air Force 1 Takes The Star
Happy Monday, y'all! I know a few of you are probably still reeling from all of the Cinco de Mayo goodies. We'll have a special Sneaker Diary up for you next week BUT, we couldn't let "May The Force Be With You" Day (YES, it's actually a thing) go by without bringing our favorite Force to your attention and recapping my evening with Nike Dallas / US Nike Football for their 'Handshakes and Hugs' Collection unveiling.
I already hipped you all to event details here so, if you're keen on seeing the full collection or peeping our recap video (it was AWESOME, btw) make sure you get your click on.
This was my third time visiting The Star in Frisco and, I've gotta say, each time is an amazing experience. On this particular visit, it was a nighttime event held for a few local Dallas influencers. Since it was a pretty relaxed vibe, I opted for a pair of double knit Men's joggers. And, since it was a wash day and my hair was not my friend (LMBO) I pulled out an airbrushed hat I had made during our Air Max Day Event with Centre back in March. I rounded out the look with a cropped long sleeve tee, the same jean jacket I wore in this Sneaker Diary last summer, oversized hoops, and a fresh pair of AF-1s.
I don't know about you but, I love men's joggers. As a woman with thighs, sometimes women's cut joggers are a bit too tight in the thigh and calf area. A small men's jogger is usually good for me with spacing and offers a bit of a higher waist which I prefer. I couldn't find my exact pair but, I've linked a similar pair here.
The Air Force 1 has been a staple in my collection since I was in middle school so, to see Nike bringing tons of iterations to the table offers a pretty dope opportunity to grab one of my favorite silhouettes in a few different colorways. BUT, white on white aka Uptowns will always remain a necessity in my personal opinion. I got these particular AF-1's in 2017 and I was even able to make them my own with a special CNK deubre from our Friendsgiving late last year. I think I'm due for a new pair and, at just $75 for GS sizes, I'm pretty sure that'll be on my list for this month.
I was definitely in my cozy element for this event. If you're feeling the fit, be sure to shop the style by clicking the shop icons below.
