In 2019, we welcomed three new iterations of the beloved Air Force 1: the Shadow, Reflective, and Shell. The AF1 Shell, inspired by weatherproofed hardshell windbreaker jackets, is covered in a durable water repellant spray. The shoes end just above the ankle with an elastic pull tie that ensures no water or snow will creep in.
Nike is ringing in the 2021 winter season with two new AF1 Shell colorways: ‘Sail’ and ‘Provence Purple’. The former has a cool beige palette and the latter features lavender and sky blue. Both come with a bright orange-red and white patch on the inside right shoe that contains longitudinal + latitudinal coordinates. Nylon uppers wick away moisture in conjunction with the shoe’s thin laces. Function and style come together for this Nike silhouette, making it a perfect weather-appropriate pick for sneakHERheads.
